![]() Here in SoCal, internet is pretty stable. And I'd say that it's become less stable as time goes on. If I may complain, my clients have been using GVC for years. I also found that increasing the encryption substantially reduces the performance to the point there is not much room left for data when the MTU has to be lowered substantially. The NetExtender doesn't seem to suffer as badly with mismatched MTU's. I've have similar issues with PPOE connections and Verizon data pucs. Then ping the remote client IP and drop the MTU by a bit each time to find the cutoff. Ping 1.1.1.1 -f -l 1472 first to verify the internet itself and the internal network supports the full 1514 MTU. Note that ping adds 28 bytes and GRE adds additional depending on the encryption level. Make sure fragmented packet handling is enabled and with the GlobalVPN client active, ping it's IP across the entire connection to find the optimal MTU. Switching to the SSLVPN NetExtender or SonicWALL Mobile connect APP shouldn't have the same difficulties as GRE but potentially introduces all new ones. The GlobalVPN uses GRE protocol 50 which is often blocked or disrupted like at a hotel for instance. We cannot figure out a pattern to who has issues vs who does not. It also seems that users are having more luck plugged directly into their router rather than using WIFI but we have many users with the same router connected through WIFI with no issue. Is there any settings we can change in the Sonicwall to help improve stability? I have already decreased the WAN interface MTU to 1350 which helped users connecting via a Verizon hot spot. The users with issues are spread across 2-3 different ISPs so it is not ISP specific. Some users have a good connection one day and can't connect the next. Certain people have rock solid connectivity for weeks/months with no issues. It seems to be linked to their home internet connections. They either cannot connect or will be connected for a few minutes then lose connectivity. About 25% of our users are having stability issues with the VPN. Each are set up with the WAN group VPN with users accessing via the Global VPN Client.
